Everybody gets so much information all day long that they lose their common sense.
In previous blog,
we have discussed why data is important.
but the data usually in unorganised manner.
here unorganised data comes like - keeping a notes in papers - there is no structure or separate category for that particular information.
example: previously we talk about car manufacturing industries, think of it - if there are hundreds of cars sold by one company then they need to store each and every detail of the car parts and also the details consumer who bought that car.
because if there is any damage to the particular part of a car, then they need to check from their side whether they had that spare part in-stock or not. In this case Data in form or organized way is important for that oke the kind is to make in a tabular format.
example for this: Excel sheet.
just re-think by including excel sheet was there by that manufacturing company then any of their costumer comes with damaged part then they can easily identifies whether they have another item or not - in easy and fast manner.
Okay fine.
now we got organized data as mentioned in excel sheet.
but if a executive level of person or top level management person needs to check the data/ need to retrieve data - what's going on in their company- last month/ last week / last year / or any particular duration from when that company starts.
as we know for each car manufacturing company involves many segments like mentioned in previous example spare parts, customer details and along with Employment details/ industry expenses- electricity, water etc/ daily cafeteria expenses/ and many more. so if all these includes then he/she can know what all the margins of profit/loss are they doing can comes into picture.
so, if we conside just one excel sheet for each segment we discussed then it might easily count upto hundreds or more.
so, even to categorise the excel sheet type of data -{ organized data }
we need a language to ask what all the data we need from those many excel sheets at a time/ at that moment.
In very simple way -
before we are go to grocery store,
we will check the refrigerator for what all the items still we have and what need to be bought from the store.
